Supports
Home School Community Liaison

As the Home School Community Liaison teacher at Coláiste Éamann Rís, my goal is to support families in ensuring that our students reach their full potential. I work closely with parents and guardians, providing guidance and encouragement so they feel empowered to build positive relationships with both the school and their teenagers.
I am a trained facilitator of the Parents Plus Adolescent Programme – an evidence-based, six-week course offered free of charge to Coláiste Éamann Rís parents. My role includes home visits, coffee mornings, workshops, attendance initiatives and solution-focused interventions. Since this service is demand-led, I tailor my support to meet the needs of our families.
I also collaborate with local primary schools to ease students’ transition to secondary school. Each year, we run a literacy programme designed to inspire a love of reading among our students. Additionally, we invite families to be active participants in school life, celebrating key milestones together, such as our First Year BBQ in September, parent-teacher meetings and information evenings.
