Homework Club
Together with our School Completion Programme and our partners at UCC+, Coláiste Éamann Rís runs a free homework club.
After-School Study
Students have the opportunity to participate in after-school study. This is another free service provided for by our school (other schools charge for sponsored study). We also offer supervised study during mid-term breaks, Easter and during state exams for a small fee. After-school study is a valuable opportunity for students to reinforce their learning in a focused and supportive environment. It provides dedicated time to review class material, complete assignments and prepare for exams, helping students stay on top of their studies. With structured guidance and a quiet space to work, after-school study plays a crucial role in fostering academic success and building good study habits.
International Students
At Coláiste Éamann Rís, we warmly welcome international students to become part of our school community. Every year, students from countries such as Brazil, the Czech Republic, Spain, France, Germany and Italy join us for an academic year, immersing themselves in the Irish education system and culture. To ensure a smooth transition, we provide a comprehensive induction session and organise team-bonding trips, helping students settle in, build friendships and feel at home. We work closely with reputable agencies that arrange placements with host families, ensuring a supportive and enriching experience outside the classroom.
Our school also offers specialised support, including English language classes and cultural studies sessions where possible, to help international students integrate and thrive academically and socially.
For any inquiries, Lisa Casey, our International Student Coordinator, is the dedicated point of contact. l.casey@cercork.ie
